Jacob Sitison wins AAUP-UD Prize
Jacob Sitison, a senior double-majoring with honors degrees in mathematical sciences and chemical engineering, has won the 2020 AAUP-UD Student Award. The UD chapter of the AAUP makes two awards of $2,000 each to graduating seniors who plan to attend graduate school with the goal of becoming university professors.
Mr. Sitison recently completed his senior thesis, "3-D Printing Extrusion Rates Through a Tapered Nozzle" under the supervision of Dr. Edwards. Dr. Edwards said, "Jake is the best undergraduate researcher I have worked with in the past 20 years. He has exceptional talent, and is exactly the type of student the AAUP wishes to recognize. I have no doubt he will go on to a successful career."
Mr. Sitison will be attending graduate school at the math department at the University of Colorado, Boulder in the fall. The department congratulates Mr. Sitison on his achievement, and wishes him well on his future endeavors!
