Wenbo Li Prize
The Wenbo Li Scholarship for Graduate Research, supported by the Wenbo Li Memorial Fund, is awarded to a graduate student in the Department of Mathematical Sciences who has written an outstanding research paper in the mathematical sciences. WRS poster awards
Every year, graduate students past their candidacy examinations present their work during the Winter Research Symposium, either with an invited talk or with a poster. A committee chooses the best two posters of the year for an award: the winners are rewarded with a travel allowance and their work is displayed in the Ewing Hall first floor expositor.
Excellence in Graduate Student Teaching Award
The University honors graduate students for excellence in teaching with monetary awards made available with funds from the Office of the President and the Office of the Provost.
Baxter-Sloyer Graduate Teaching Award
Given to a graduate student teaching assistant, in mathematical sciences, who has demonstrated superior effectiveness in teaching, and in the performance of their responsibilities.
SIAM Outstanding Efforts and Achievements Award
This award recognizes students for outstanding service and contributions to the UD SIAM Student Chapter.
Graduate Scholar Award
The University Graduate Scholar awards are
competitive awards for academic achievement by graduate students from under-represented groups.
Knowles Teacher Initiative Teaching Fellowship (35 a year in all of USA)
The Knowles Teaching Fellows Program is an intensive and cohesive, five-year program that supports early-career, high school mathematics and science teachers in their efforts to develop teaching expertise and lead from the classroom.
William Clark Prize (earlier Faculty Recognition of a Graduating Senior)
A monetary award presented only when a senior majoring in mathematics has, in the opinion of the department, unusual ability in the area.
Mathematical Sciences Undergraduate Research Award
The Mathematical Sciences Undergraduate Research Award is given to a mathematics major who completes outstanding original research during the current academic year.
S.J. Wolfe Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a student entering the senior year, majoring in mathematics, who has demonstrated both love and talent for the subject, qualities personified by Professor Wolfe.
Outstanding Student Teacher Award
The Outstanding Student Teacher Award is awarded to undergraduate students who have demonstrated outstanding performance in student teaching.
Mildred Cook Award
The Mildred Cook award is presented to a mathematics education major for outstanding scholarship and active participation in education related activities.
Carl J. and Eleanor K. Rees Scholarship
Scholarships awarded to sophomores and juniors majoring in mathematics on the basis of their academic performance in math courses.
Secondary Education Award for Educational Promise in Math Education
The Secondary Education Award for Educational Promise is presented to students who have taken Educ 413, Educ 414 or Educ 419 and have demonstrated exceptional potential as future educators.
