Professor Robert "Bob" Gilbert has been recently named International
Research Fellow (for the period 2017-2020) of the Ruhr-Universitaet in
Bochum, Germany. This a renewable position funding Prof. Gilbert to
visit Bochum's University. Professor Gilbert is a very active member of
our department, with expertise in mathematical biology and inverse
problems among other topics. He is one of the editors in chief of the
journal "Applicable Analysis," published by the Taylor & Francis
Group, and is honorary editor of its sister journal "Complex Variables
and Elliptic Equations." He was the recipient of an honorary doctorate
from the Vekua Institute of Applied Mathematics in the Ivan Javakhisvili
Tbilisi State University in Georgia in 2012.
