The
Department of Mathematical Sciences at UD will host the Fall 2018
edition of the Finite Element Circus, a biannual meeting for theorists
and practitioners of one of the most widely used methods for the
approximation of Partial Differential Equations. The FEC takes typically
place on Universities of the Eastern Seaboard, with occasional trips to
the Midwest and to the South, periodically joining forces there with
the Finite Element Rodeo. This will be UD's sixth hosting of the Circus,
the last one having taken place in 2013. The FEC has an equalitarian
and informal format, where the order of the talks is decided randomly at
the beginning of the event and all presentations are assigned slots of
the same duration. For more information, the local website for the event
can be found here. https://sites.google.com/udel.edu/fecfall2018ud
