First year graduate student Samuel Cogar just received the prestigious
National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship. The NDSEG
fellowship, awarded by the Department of Defense, provides financial
support for three consecutive years, as well as full tuition costs. The
NDSEG fellowship program is highly competitive with less than 200
fellowships awarded every year in fifteen scientific and technical
disciplines.
Sam’s awarded proposal is based on a project in computational methods for
inverse scattering, one of the flagships of the Department of Mathematical
Sciences at UD.
