Castillo-Chavez, a Regents Professor, a Joaquin Bustoz Jr. Professor of Mathematical Biology and a Distinguished Sustainability Scientist at Arizona State University, delivered the Rees Lecture on Nov. 20th. The lecture, titled “Beyond Ebola and Influenza: Lessons Learned for Mitigating Future Pandemics,” is free and open to the public. His lecture comes just over a year since the confirmed beginning of the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, which now appears to be nearing its end.
