The Department of Mathematical Sciences is very pleased to announce that Hasan Eruslu has won one of the University's 2017 Excellence in Teaching Awards for Graduate Students. Hasan is just the 11th recipient of this prestigious award to come from the Department of Mathematical Sciences, dating back to 1971, and the first one since 2007. Hasan is a third year graduate student in the department, working under the supervision of Professor Francisco Sayas in numerical analysis. He graduated with Bachelor and Masters degrees in Mathematics from Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey. Nominations for the award are submitted by students, alumni, faculty, and staff. The award comes with a $1500 prize, through the Offices of the President and Provost.
